Milky Way Molds, Inc. was founded in 1998 by Catherine Failor, artist and author of two soapmaking books. Her love for both gardening and design has been the inspiration behind Gardenmolds.
Milky Way Mold's day-to-day operations are coordinated amoung four different businesses. Catherine sculpts all the original art for the molds at her home studio in Portland, Oregon.

Milky Way's " front office" is run by Diana Thompson, living in Oysterville, Washington. Diana's the helpful person who answers the 800#, takes care of invoicing, and skillfully processes all the paperwork necessary to run a business. Diana and her husband John also run their own business, Harmony Soapworks. |
All of Milky Way's products are packaged and shipped by Brooklyn Hardware, a family business owned by Michael and Carol Grant. They process all orders with patience, care and speed.

Howard Speelman owns a 14-year old vacuum molding business and manufactures all of Milky Way's molds. In addition to his vacuum business, Howard works in his glass-blowing studio as well as manufactures dichroic art glass.
